Early Childhood - F.A.S.T.

NEW BOCES, or Northeast Wyoming Board of Cooperative Educational Services, is designed to assist and enhance the local school district's commitment to successful student outcomes.  The purpose of the educational cooperatives is to provide a variety of non-traditional educational services.

Wendy has served the Converse County School District #1 as a Reading Specialist. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education.  She has a Master of Education in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction/Reading K-8 as well as her Reading Specialist Endorsement.  She is certified to teach all 12 modules of LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling); a nationally known and scientifically based reading research based staff development program for teachers of reading, writing and spelling.

As the F.A.S.T (Families And School Transition) liaison, she provides community providers with curriculum, support and training for children ages 2-5 years.  Wendy also offers classes and support for parents seeking early childhood education and school readiness opportunities for their children.  Within these two endeavors, she also helps provide children with developmentally appropriate lessons and activities to increase language, literacy, math, science, social-emotional and school transition skills.

F.A.S.T. Mission

Our mission is to create life-long learners inspired to be their best.  Every Student. Every Day.

F.A.S.T. Goals

The goals for our F.A.S.T program are to support early childhood providers, as well as parents, in providing fun, educational, developmentally appropriate activities and lessons to engage both parents and children in learning.  Language and Literacy are one the most important components in child development, beginning before birth.  Currently, our program serves children ages two to Pre-Kindergarten.  Another goal will be to add in our birth to 2 year olds for a well-rounded program.
